At any rate, given what I spent a year writing about, you can see why misinformation drives me absolutely bonkers.

The solution to the Firehose is not to try to debunk each falsehood but to put raincoats on the population.

This is why, instead of answering the latest DOJ / Garland outrage, I'm trying to get people to see that the outrage is the result of a media misinformation ecosystem / echochamber and encourage people to get out of it.

@Teri_Kanefield I appreciate this metaphor misinformation as firehose and raincoat as defense, but also want to observe that a firehose will knock you over, whatever rain gear you're wearing. You'll get wet on the ground.

It really seems like we also need a strategy to stop those who would point a firehose at people from doing that.
