My best and most consistent NPC voices are the ones that are just taken from existing people or television/movie characters. If I don't have a person in mind when doing an NPC voice their accent wanders all over the place!
ch1m3r4c0mpl3xRead Trainspotting, and say all of the dialogue aloud. You'll master a Scottish accent in no time.
