I've been a Mint user since forever, and I'm super sad it's going away.

What are others using for budgeting, tracking net worth, and making sure you're in good shape financially?

@brad_frost Reading the first sentence I thought you were talking about Linux.

I’m still trying to set this up for my family’s budget. It’s “free” (you have to self-host) and open source. https://actualbudget.org

@brad_frost I've used lunchmoney.app and really enjoyed it.
@craveytrain @brad_frost same, recently switched from a homegrown excel to lunchmoney and it's definitely easier to maintain now
@brad_frost I've switched over to Empower Dashboard/Personal Capital and found it to be a good free replacement for Mint

@brad_frost I’ve been using Monarch for a couple years now. I’m pretty happy with it. They’re running a special discount for Mint users right now:

@josh @brad_frost the guys who run Monarch are the original team behind Mint before it got sold to Intuit.
@brad_frost we use YNAB and really dig it - https://www.ynab.com/

Working hard with nothing to show for it? Use your money more efficiently and control your spending and saving with the YNAB app.

@brad_frost https://copilot.money only works on iOS/MacOS but it’s very nice at categorization, budgeting, and monthly trends

@brad_frost I use YNAB and like it fine. A friend works at Monarch, though, so if I were interested in switching I’d probably give that a look, too.
@brad_frost another vote for ynab. There's a lot of open source options, too, but for me, still learning to look after money, ynab is really great.
@brad_frost I'm using lunchmoney.app, I definitely don't use it to it's fullest potential, but it replaced mint for me with no problem.

@brad_frost I’ve been using YNAB for 7 years now and would recommend. It’s dependable. The only caveat is that the direct bank importer works better with some banks than others here in Canada.

I’m curious about some of the other apps people are posting in this thread – they look nice too.

@brad_frost Quicken Simplifi feels like a more grown up version of Mint. It allows a similar approach instead of being forced into YNAB’s opinions.
@brad_frost
Same. I haven’t looked beyond Credit Karma, that new one they replaced/partnered with (?) but it is a MUCH WORSE experience and I find I almost never use it as a result. I’ll be interested to see what other folks have to say here.

@brad_frost Monarch is great, both in its app and web forms. https://www.monarchmoney.com/

@brad_frost If you want it to automatically sync with your bank, then the only one I’ve found somewhat good is Copilot. With that said, Copilot sync is a bit of hit and miss depending on which bank you have. It doesn’t work with my bank anymore, so I’m now looking for alternatives too🤷‍♂️
@brad_frost I started using Copilot a year or so ago and found it useful. But since migrating most of my finances to Sofi it offers a lot of the same functionality and I don't find myself using Copilot as much.
@brad_frost I’ve tried a bunch and the two that I’m currently debating between are https://copilot.money/ and https://www.quicken.com/products/simplifi/. Currently leaning toward Quicken Simplifi.
