Being an open web advocate is more important than ever, as a perfect storm forms for website operators: genAI + search, Google sunsetting 3rd-party cookies, centralized social media over-reach. I'm so glad I made a new website for my newsletter, but I am pondering what more I can do... I'm not sure being a tech journalist is enough these days; e.g. doing interviews like this and writing it up seems...insufficient? Drupal Creator: Websites Needed More Than Ever in the AI Era

Generative AI is an existential threat to websites. Which begs the question: are websites still relevant? Drupal's Dries Buytaert says yes!

The New Stack
@ricmac hmm...last I checked (fall '23 I think), D9/D10 didn't have a clear way to publish or subscribe to the fediverse, so I'm not sure what Dries is saying on that. (It looked to me like one could cobble together a really basic fediverse integration from contrib, but it would take a fair amount of work & probably some coding. But I don't do Drupal anymore so I didn't dig super deep.)

@ricmac @FeralRobots yes I looked at this some years ago and swentel’s work on the ActivityPub module is really solid http://realize.be/blog/activitypub-drupal

And yes, Drupal is a content construction kit, no coding, but Drupal config required

I'd have to guess that's it, yes. In context where I was discussing it, we all took note that it's alpha, minimally maintained, & has 26 tracked users - i.e., barely there. My experience with Drupal modules at that level of dev & distrib is mixed: A couple with simple use cases worked fine, the few difficulties easily addressed; more often, though, it took a lot of integration to get them working at all.
So, yeh, I wouldn't count that as the platform having AP integraton.
