IF people pay attention. He's been trying to get Netanyahu to spare civilians since about Oct 12th, but media has ignored that for the most part.
@Nazani
He shouted down other countries that criticized Israel, and continues to give them arms and military aid to facilitate the genocide.
@tofugolem Some of the arms purchases were arranged before October, & a heavily armed Israel is a deterrent to a broader Mideast conflict. Iran & other states & groups would be happy to pile on while Israel is focused on Hamas.

Netanyahu’s war bluster exposes growing rift with Biden

Wow.

We're not talking about responses to tarrif policy, we're talking about responses to genocide.

Yes. Criticism and warnings have in the past shown to have zero effect on Israel when it comes to ethnic cleansing and genocide.

@Nazani @tofugolem I'm still amazed the US is comsidering a deal that includes a mutual defence pact with SA. That should be a total nonstarter.
@Nazani @tofugolem *nonstarter (it will not let me fix this!)
@Nazani @tofugolem The media hasn't ignored it, the medis has stated plenty of times that he's trying to presdure them "behind the scenes" and I think the media has been too kind. It hasn't worked and he keeps rushing Israel weapons.

@Nazani @tofugolem It hasn't been a deterrent - the situation in Gaza is causing increased risk of area violence and we are enabling it to continue rather than addressing the most urgent problem.

@athyrium @Nazani
Oh, I agree, but usually, even something this minor and inadequate would result in accusations of antisemitism and political careers going down the toilet.

A fully agree this is not enough.

But we have to change public attitudes and public discourse in order to get to meaningful policy change.
