I'm literally unable to print a black text document for my shitty inadequate job because my printer is out of color. I tried, there's no way to force it, this is in it's fucking firmware.

Printers are an excellent example of crapitalism, even this old one.
Notice you can't buy a black only printer anymore.
I rarely print color. The rare occasion I do, it's so rare, I'll go to kinkos or order photo prints.
This is fucking enraging.

I wish I was able to sue the fuckers for this shit.
Brand new black cartridge, but it's blinking for color. I even told it black only cart. Doesn't matter. It wants color. So it can sit there and evaporate.
@hellomiakoda and why must ink be $60 or more, I gave up having a printer over a decade ago. I get companies who insist I need to print something... can I just not? disability income hasnt been raised enough to compensate for so many additional costs over the past two decades, like a smartphone for example.
@GreenRoc LoL, they don't care if we die! If they did, they wouldn't have me waiting this long. Our deaths are part of their plan
@hellomiakoda I cannot rule out your perspective.
@hellomiakoda I miss having a black-ink-only printer. I would print out coloring pages, which only needs black ink.
@GreenRoc @hellomiakoda if you want mono color printer, look at brother laser printers. Our color version has been reliable for 10 years and never has a dry ink issue because we rarely use it. On our second black toner cartridge and we’ve only recently had to replace one of the color cartridges. I do get though that this is still an expense that can be difficult to manage on a tight budget. There are some versions available near the $100 price point.
@sigsegv @GreenRoc
My budget is I literally am wearing rags
@hellomiakoda @sigsegv $100 for a printer is way too much.

@hellomiakoda
At the risk of being a "well actually..." guy, you can still get B&W printers. Brother laser printers are $120+ depending on speed, double sided printing, etc.

If you print stuff very rarely and don't need it *right now*, the public library might also work. I need something printed 2-3 times a year so I just print it out at the library
