I discovered the Horus Heresy Warhammer “30K” books last year.

I’m currently on book 18, “Deliverance Lost”, by Gav Thorpe.

I have to say that so far, most of this series has been good stuff. Some books are better than others, but I’ve enjoyed them all.

Anyone wanting to dig into a crazy, grimdark future that spans dozens of books should at least give them a try. As an added bonus, there’s the gaming and miniature aspects that can also be a fun hobby.

@electragician I always recommend the Heresy-series to people who want to get into the Warhammer-'verse. It's such a good starting point and creates a great sense of foreboding!
Yes, the quality is very mixed - the way McNeill has written my beloved Emperor's Children into absolutely cringy imbeciles was a hard read, but then there are masterpieces like "Know No Fear", "Betrayer", "Unremembered Empire" or "Slaves to Darkness". So many great books! 😊

Same here - I started November 22 with my Warhammer journey by reading the Heresey books, playing the games from Dawn of War to Darktide and also trying to build and paint some miniatures. 😄
