I think the article’s take on the ruling is wrong.

Telling Israel not to commit genocide is a “no sh*t” statement.

In fact, that they didn’t find any reason to call for an immediate ceasefire to halt the alleged genocide is a victory for Israel, in that there was no reasonable evidence to suggest Israel is acting outside the legitimate rules of war.

Bottom line, this ruling was that South Africa has the right to waste the court’s time. It was a victory for legal procedures.
