Guess what — Mastodon & @bbcmicrobot are in the news.

BBCMicroBot is a fun bot that started off on Twitter in February 2020 — although it is on Mastodon now.

People send it BASIC code — and it runs it and posts the result!

Many use it to create "pixel-art"

BBCMicroBot migrated over to the Fediverse in Nov 2022, as part of the Twitter-migration.

@reiver thanks for the mention! We preemptively moved to #Mastodon November 5, 2022. I think the Twitter API changes were a few months after that - but we had already left.

@reiver @bbcmicrobot I'm sad that the similar one for Atari 8-bit BASIC never made it over (as far as I can tell).
@bbcmicrobot @mattmcirvin @reiver use #atari8bitbot and it should work. It’s currently run by somebody else. I need to update the instructions webpage. I have not ported the apple II and to PC basic bots yet
