The RDAccess add-on (Remote Desktop Accessibility) adds support for Microsoft Remote Desktop, Citrix, or VMware Horizon remote sessions to NVDA. When installed on both the client and the server in NVDA, speech and braille generated on the server will be spoken and displayed in braille on the client machine. This enables a user experience where managing a remote system feels as seamless as operating the local system. https://github.com/LeonarddeR/rdAccess

@spaciath This is the addon you probably want for any remote access situation now, provided you can get access to one of these protocols and they don't insist on using some proprietary thing.
@simon oh this sounds exciting. I love NVDARemote but, of course, the local session and the way it has to work on secure screens is a slight different pigeon.
@cachondo @simon It's not like those screens are actually secure either. All you have to do is boot a windows or Linux iso, mount the filesystem, and copy sethc.exe to sethc.exe.bak, then copy explorer.exe or cmd.exe to sethc.exe depending on what you want. Then on a secure screen, do the sticky keys thing. You will get a command prompt if cmd was copied, and even worse you get a full on desktop if you copy explorer.exe.
@destructatron @simon your hacker creds are impressive, but perhaps a tad outside the scope of the usefulness of the addons... 😃
@destructatron @cachondo @simon whoa!
no sending illegal exploits on mastodon, you hacker!
lmfao
@destructatron @cachondo @simon If you're able to gain sufficient access to my environment to pull that off, might I suggest just pressing Alt+Y at the UAC prompt to run your bad thing instead? It will be a lot quicker and easier, decreasing the risk of me coming back from the shops and catching you at it. Work smarter not harder:)
@jscholes @cachondo @simon This isn't a general use case type of thing. If, say, your school laptop has its bios unlocked and the boot menu isn't password protected, being able to do this becomes a lot more useful if you want admin access.
@simon My only issue with this is I can't just disconnect a session without freezing it. I've just been using TellNVDA remote , over tailscail. Secure enough.
@simon Thanks for sharing!
@leonardder It looks really cool and I'm interested to try it in a few situations. Didn't know you were out here, or I would've mentioned you.
@simon No problem. Looking forward to your findings.
@simon How is this better than NVDARemote? That would seem to accomplish the same purpose, but I could be wrong.
