Recruiter: and this position is expected to be in the office 5 days per week.

Me: but the job postings says the role is REMOTE?

Recruiter: ohhh that means that there is *a* remote. It’s in the break room. You can use it to change channels. While you’re in the office. Five days a week.

@josephthomas So, following recent "we won't go so far as to make it mandatory but we'd really really really really like it if you were in the office 5 days/week" mandates, I've been in the office at least 4 days every week this month.

I have 3-7 meetings every day. Still well over half of them - on days I'm IN the office - are virtual, with all of us at our desks, in our offices.

Like, why the fuck am I here? I could be at home in my pajamas being 3x as productive.

@tezoatlipoca
Offices at least suggests a tiny bit of acoustic privacy. There is a special hell reserved for management that does mandatory RTO and keeps the open office design.
