Only a guesstimate, but based on how Apple charges for storage on the Mac & iPad, we could see Apple Vision Pro prices for higher storage tiers look like this:
@BasicAppleGuy They are fairly consistent with storage pricing - even iPad at 1TB is the same cost for upgrade when you also add in the 16GB of RAM
@BasicAppleGuy I wish there was some way to know if storage upgrades will be worth it.
@jeff until we see what app sizes and how big spatial movies are it’ll be hard to know.
@BasicAppleGuy At least Apple has a strong history of only selling devices with sufficient storage for normal use 😂
@BasicAppleGuy so how many songs is that on my face?
@Eggfreckles @BasicAppleGuy This time, it’s the battery that’s in your pocket.
@BasicAppleGuy strangely, I expect a one size configuration, thanks to the headset inherent complexity to assemble. Having storage tiers would further complicate an already challenging device to sell in volume…
@numericcitizen I have to imagine at least one higher tier to help improve margins on the product, but I agree with you.
@BasicAppleGuy didn’t they said the motherboard was slightly curved as well? Could that affect the modules they use and bc of that the price?

@BasicAppleGuy I’m thinking that the entry level should be fine for most people. Looking at my storage on my iPhone and iPad I’m well under 128gb on both.

The Vision Pro should be the same, I would think.

@BasicAppleGuy It’s Apple so I half expect the lowest tier to be 32gb :v
@BasicAppleGuy Just out of interest will you be getting one. Really enjoy your work.
@jimmaguire I hope so. I am in Canada so I won't get it initially, and I have some significant expenses the first half of 2024 that I need to resolve first. Thanks so much

@BasicAppleGuy Was pointed out to me that this pricing includes the iPad’s bundled 8GB RAM upgrade at the 1TB level - this is what it is based on the M2 MacBook Air pricing which is pure storage costs

256GB - $3499
512GB - $3699
1TB - $3899
2TB (??) - $4299

@tchaten @BasicAppleGuy I think I'll go 1TB at that price.
@HilliTech @BasicAppleGuy Agreed that is what I’ll go with given that pricing
