“Mrs. Smith! Mrs. Smith! Your Sunday School lessons are always great, but what does Ezekiel 23:20 really mean?”
“Well, Timmy, it’s self explanatory. “And there she lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were as those of donkeys and whose emissions were as that of horses.”
“So it’s an animal story like Noah’s Ark?”
“Yes Timmy, but with far less extreme bullshit.”
@dgar This is how the right workflow should be.
As a child, before going to bed, I prayed to God to give me a bicycle. One day I realized that wasn't the way God worked. The next day I stole a bicycle and every evening before going to bed I prayed to God to forgive my sins.

@dgar Me, I'm a Christian who's still trying to figure out how I feel about religion, but tbh praying gives people hope. And imo that's what counts the most, at least psychologically: the hope that the prayer would be fulfilled.
We do have a Filipino saying tho: 'sa diyos ang awa, sa tao ang gawa' - 'in God is pity, in man is doing'. You can pray, and God will help you in your endeavours, but you must do your outright best to do your part. Don't sit and expect the prayer to be fulfilled.
