Students and Educators in Idaho Show Us What It’s Like When a State Fails to Fund School Repairs

@ProPublica Everyone in all those schools needs to organize a march onto thier statehouse cause that 2/3 law was specifically passed so that no bond would ever get approved. Republicans want to get rid of public schools and want to replace them with religious indoctoration houses. Letting the schools fall into disrepair is part of that project, it will never get better. Large organized politcal action to get rid of the anti-school lawmakers and laws needs to spring up because asking for sympathies and waiting for them to approve funding wont ever work.
@ProPublica I grew up in Idaho. My experience in the Boise school district was pretty good. The most common problem I saw in the school buildings I attended was leaky roofs after rain. They were often flat roofs that needed some repair. All in all though, I was fine with the buildings. Hope your article will encourage school boards, legislators, and communities to invest more in infrastructure for education in Idaho.
@ProPublica I went to a poor high school in a very poor state. We didn’t have a cafeteria. We didn’t have lockers or showers in the gym. We had three principals in three years. But my graduating class of 200 had three National Merit Scholars, including me.
