Each day throughout #2023 I have contributed at least one climate-related edit to the #wikimedia ecosystem as part of the #365climateedits initiative: https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/User:Daniel_Mietchen/365_climate_edits

Thinking about useful ways to scale such things up for #2024 - suggestions welcome.

@EvoMRI @ainali is #365climateedits going to happen in 2024 too?
@egonw @EvoMRI The concept is not bound by calendar year, but from the day you start it. See: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedians_for_Sustainable_Development/365_climate_edits

@ainali @EvoMRI cool! and are wikibase.cloud instances (like https://kg-ipclimatec-reports.wikibase.cloud/) included too?
IPCC

@egonw @EvoMRI It is mostly meant as a challenge for yourself, so if you want to use that hashtag for it, please go ahead! (Originally, it was meant as a challenge for Wikimedia projects, but I think all work to improve knowledge around climate issues should be encouraged.)
@EvoMRI This is a good question and I have been thinking about it during the year, but haven't come up with any good ideas on how to scale it up. But when writing this, perhaps it needs to be scaled down? Would more people get involved if it was a 30-day challenge?

@ainali We have different dimensions to play with in terms of scaling up or down: (i) time units, (ii) number of time units to cover, (iii) number of activities per time unit, (iv) number of people involved, (v) types of activities in scope, ...

This initial run felt like a rather solitary exercise, so I would like to strengthen community aspects of it, e.g. by having teams partake in some way. Some thoughts on this in https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedians_for_Sustainable_Development/365_climate_edits#Team_participants .

@EvoMRI @ainali ... common aims or milestones, ... and outcome/impacts!? I myself like filling gaps, in empty items for example ...
