forgottrekI'm starting to figure out a bit of a #HeadCanon involving why #UNIT is suddenly so public with their own Avengers tower-style base as shown in #TheStarBeast in #doctorwho60. I think the Flux and the Dalek security drone incident having happened after the shutting down of UNIT may have caused more widespread demand for such an organization to be "out in the open, defending the Earth" as I think 14 put it.
Also in the following New Years Special, #EveoftheDaleks, #DoctorWho has a line about insurance not covering "acts of Dalek", and about a year or two later in-universe is "UNIT insurance". I can easily see #RTD using this as a foundation for his new era since last time he set up a world aware of aliens.
