The first time I watched #Archer was somewhere en route to Afghanistan almost 13 years ago. I’m drinking #whisky (an Irish single malt, in fact) having just watched the series finale, out of a glass I bought during one of the PI seasons.

I don’t watch much TV and haven’t since I was a kid, but I made an exception for Archer. I know a lot of people complained about the last few seasons, and indeed they were very different, but that’s what happens when the main writer leaves.

By now I’m old enough to have seen a lot of TV shows come and go, to say nothing of cast members or crew dying one way or another. #Sealab was kinda like that - after Harry Goz died there wasn’t much left to watch, really.

It’s a little different when it’s probably your favorite show, or at least your favorite in years. #Futurama hasn’t really died yet (and may never, considering what happens with Groening’s shows) and #Disenchantment could still get movies.

I hope #Archer and #Disenchantment both get movies. The Archer ones carry more weight with me even if Disenchantment is more mindless entertainment. If nothing else, being on the air for more than twice as long gives Archer more heft.

It’s rude what happened to Archer, but when you’re controlled by any version of Fox these things will happen.
