Ah, the holidays β€” chestnuts roasting on an open fire, presents beneath the tree, and a war on Christmas? According to the grievance-driven White Christian right, Christmas is under siege 😱 Understanding the curious claims is difficult, but this read is a good place to start. https://thinkbigpicture.substack.com/p/fox-war-christmas-gibson-trump
Is The 'War On Christmas' Over?

In the post-Trump age of "woke", it seems like Fox's "war on Christmas" doesn't have the same power that it used to.

The Big Picture

@georgetakei

Yea; the "War on Christmas" is one of the only wars that the right-wing leaders are willing to fund. And boy do they! πŸ™„

@georgetakei someone should make a "war on christmas" video montage that just gets longer, and longer and longer with each passing year.

@georgetakei
Oh, yes, the "War on Christmas", which has never actually been a thing. Unlike, say, Christianity's various wars on Paganism, Heathenism, Atheism, and basically every other philosophical, spiritual, or theological tradition, which involved actual weapons and claimed real people's innocent lives.

@georgetakei freedom from religion is healthy. You can believe what you want but don’t ram it down the throats of others. Separation of church and state is crucial for a just society.
@georgetakei George, I’m sorry, but how can you possibly stomach posting on Substack when they’re very explicitly defending the platforming of Nazis?
@georgetakei Absurd pagan idolatry like this xmas crap is just a retail grift. The gop christo-fascists spouting their "righteousness" is disgusting.
@georgetakei the Christmas machetes and ripped bustiers on The iHeart radio bust an ass Jingle Ball pretty much quenched that war for a while.
@georgetakei the War on Christmas actually began in 1963 when Andy Williams released his Happy Holidays album. Andy, how could you??? 🀣
