This new video is the kind of journalism which can end Putins war in Ukraine.

Using hundreds of sources, a BBC team has connected the dots and uncovered, how the Russian army suffered enormous losses in the battle of Vuhledar, while commanders and generals insisted everything was fine.

I hope this gets a billion boosts.

What happened to Russia’s elite ‘Black Berets’ in Ukraine? - BBC World Service Documentaries

YouTube
@randahl
can it be seen in russia? Is there a version in russian? Nothing but end of putin can end his war.

@osma VPN connection software to bypass the state internet filtering is extremely popular in Russia. I saw a screenshot of VPN apps being high ranking in their app stores. Plus, YouTube supports autotranslated subtitles.

So yes.

@randahl
YouTube is reportedly still unblocked, but I don't know whether that applies to all videos, too. For a video like this, auto-translated subtitles will not be enough, if it's hoped to have any impact where it should have impact.

Indeed a very detailed and well-sourced documentary by BBC about the Russian losses in Vuhledar.

Such a beautiful village completely pulverised. Nothing can compensate Ukrainian citizens for their losses.

But life for Russian soldiers is also terrible. Military duty in Russia is like an, often one-way, ticket to hell.

@randahl

@randahl Human life truly has no value in Russia, it's in a death spiral.

@Lazarou @randahl

Just from looking at dashcam compilation videos (of which a very large portion are from Russia) I get the impression life is already cheap even in normal peacetime civilian environments such as public highways..

@randahl That is power piece of reporting.

I do feel sorry for every young Russian caught in this war… but… as long as they are heading into Ukraine with a gun I wish them a speedy departure in whatever form that takes.

Who I really feel sorry for is any Ukrainian. I do agree in that I hope this causes those young Russian lads to turn their guns on their officers.

The bottom line is that Ukraine comes first in all things, and when and only when Ukraine says we’re done, then we can have time for Russia.

There is one message we need to spread in Russia and that is “Fuck you Putin!”

@randahl Winning any kind of conflict between nations is impossible without accurate information.
@randahl well… Ramaz‘s mother will vote for Putin anyways… Nothing will change…. That’s Russia…. She will receive some Potatoes and some Fish from the local governor and will be happy again because Putin still pays her Pension…and politics is something she doesn’t understand.
@randahl Very nice to see the BBC documenting stellar work of 72th, 55th and 35th brigades of Ukrainian armed forces.
@randahl
How do we get the news to Russians? Maybe attach it to a torrent file of some juicy movie? Russians love piracy.
@Nazani @randahl I understand it’s a joke but… They know. There’s ~630k Russian troops in military action. Third families and front know exactly how bad it is. Extended families, friends of friends and neighbors know, too. And most of the rest have at least a hunch that everything’s not quite peachy. That’s not the main issue.

Holy shit—it's not enough that Clarence Thomas can be counted on for vote for authoritarianism or regressive decisions, but is there a more corrupt justice than in our nation's Clarence Thomas?

I'm surprised he and Ginny didn't travel to south of the border during the summers to work as drug mules for Pablo Escobar.
