As much as I don't like Twitter, I do miss all the calendar sales that it used to drive. I'm down over a $1,000 of income that would have come from Twitter calendar sales. That sucks.

Northern Landscapes Calendar 2024

A year worth of landscape images from northern Minnesota. These photos, taken by landscape photographer and outdoor photography instructor Bryan Hansel, cover a wide range of subjects in the northland. For this year's calendar many of the images come from Cook County, Minnesota and Lake Superior. The images show sunrises from Artist's Point, waterfalls from the Temperance River and Cascade River, a sunrise near Hovland, a harbor scene from Grand Marais, fall color scenes from Cook and Lake Counties, and a peaceful cabin in the snow.

@bryanhansel I'd have bought one of your great calendars, but unfortunately shipping to Europe takes ages and also comes with a hefty price tag 🤪

But apart from that, I think hashtags are the primary way to get attention for your posts here on Mastodon. And don't forget timezones: there is no algorithm so it may be a good idea to retoot your posts after some hours in order to reach a broader audience.

Good luck!

@riaschissl some of that time is that they have to print it. Lulu is print on demand, and that takes a week or two depending on the time of year. But shipping to Europe is spendy. I bought one of Alex Van Nes's watercolor calendars. It shipped from Europe to me in the US and was spendy. I love Alex's watercolors though. If you're looking for a good calendar shipping from Europe, I highly recommend Alex's.
