Some requests, with love ❤️

Can I pls remove these tiles at the top? Wasted space!

Can I use posters instead of screen caps? Only very rarely are they recognizable from the show.

Is it possible to sort the watchlist by most recently watched, and/or number of episodes remaining? I don’t get the episode released option at all…

And finally, I’d love to be able to tick off the next episode without having to go ‘into’ the show screen at all — So many extra unnecessary taps…

Even though the iPad has a lot more screen space than my iPhone mini, I would appreciate more information density on both devices.

The interface is really pretty 👍, but super space-wasteful, imo.

@kraigschmidt hi Kraig!

Removing the carousel is unlikely (at least in the short term) as its purpose is intrinsic to Sequel’s ethos.

You can use the equivalent of posters for your Watch Next carousel by going into Preferences > General > Episode Previews > Watch Next!

As for completing episodes without going into the details screen, you can long press the previews. I’ll explore putting a checkmark on the preview directly but overlapping tappable areas might be frustrating to some.

@rlfb
Hey thanks for your reply…

I found the long press. Though I’d prefer to switch the short-press to check-in, and the long press to the full info screen. Maybe user selectable?

Under ‘released’ there are smaller posters. Any chance to use them instead? The wide artwork is… really wide.

And what is the point of the carousel? I’m not trying to be provocative — I don’t understand the point, or why it’s worth half the screen? Everything in it should be in the watch next list, right…?

@kraigschmidt Sequel is all about the anticipation of what comes next and so that naturally implies an emphasis on what’s just been released from your wishlist.

The carousel also allows for quick access to a movie that you’ve just watched in theatre when you want to mark it as watched for example.

The interface might become more customisable in the future but that would be longer term I’m afraid. 😅

@rlfb
Hmmm. Respectfully, I’m not sure this works the way you’ve described?

*I* want to decide what comes next. I’d *love* the app to give me more control over what that looks like, and how it behaves.

I only tell you this because it’s *sooooo* close…😢😁

@kraigschmidt I agree with you. But right now I’m focused on making the best app for *most* people. Additional customisation options will likely arrive in due time but it’s a matter of priorities. I’m also very cautious not to overcomplicate the app with options. This can take time to figure out. Just bear with me! 🙏 😅
