Apple's Journal app is here.

As a long-time Day One user (8 years and counting 👵), I was *really* excited when Apple first announced they would be building their own journaling app.

As it turns out, Apple's approach to journaling is very interesting. But in its current state, it’s being held back by several critical shortcomings, especially if it truly aims to bring journaling to a wider audience.

I used to be a big Day One fan myself but over the years it's gotten buggy and harder to use (i.e. The new inspiration feature doesn't work at all for me and just gives me a blank screen). Plus, once they went subscription with new features I gave up and stopped using the app. So I'm really looking forward to a more OEM app that I feel a little safer storing thousands of memories. Although, I probably will wait till there's an import feature to really get started.
