I was one of the first people in the UK with an iPhone; imported it from the US on launch day.

Took it to the computer science lab at uni so I could set up the turbo SIM and jailbreak it; it got a LOT of attention from my fellow students who'd never seen anything like it.

It was incredible, an absolute game changer, but also an absolute nightmare with basic features missing that feature-phones and "smart phones" of the time had had for years.

I've never used an iPhone since 😂
