15 minutes in and they Obi-Wanned the main character 😂 (you won’t understand this without watching #GodsNotDeadALightInDarkness AND the #Obiwan show)
I’m not mad, I think that character arc made a lot of sense for both characters, I just find the resemblance very striking
Okay I feel like it’s only fair to note: it doesn’t seem like this is telling a story about general persecution of Christians in the #USA, but a case of one wellfare lady who hates Christians weaponizing her position to punish a #Christian co op for fun.
Knowing how these movies go she’ll have a “come to #Jesus” moment in the second act and will let everyone know that she lied about the co op environment lol
Why is #GodsNotDeadWeThePeople breaking the continuity of the series by having #JeaninePirro play “Judge Neely” when she played herself in #GodsNotDeadALightInDarkness?
lol
HOLY FRICK THIS TRANSITION WAS EPIC
I did NOT go into #GodsNotDeadWeThePeople expecting anything cool artisticly, this was fun to watch (trust me, it’s better as a video than as a slideshow)
“This is an advertisement for birth control!”
“Yeah. They passed it out in class. Maddie’s in the second grade! He’s seven!”
Sounds crazy, but this has actually happened!
There are too many characters in this movie to keep track of. They have plot threads that they don’t fully explain, you have to remember what was happening in #GodsNotDeadALightInDarkness to understand everything but it’s been like two years since I saw that movie lol
Like what the frick is going on with Taylor? She has a kid? Fighting for custody? With who? Why? I’m so lost with this plotline lol
Oh nice, they finally explain what’s happening in a major plotline THIRTY MINUTES INTO THE DANG MOVIE
Holy frick this Taylor woman is unhinged. She thinks her husband was assassinated and that the public school system would put her son in a #SPED program and keep him from progressing in the way that he should?
(I’m being a bit harsh but this seems a bit silly to me.)
There’s something about the romantic subplot that’s getting on my nerves, but I can’t put my finger on why exactly.
Ah well one thing about it is the relationship is progressing unrealistically quickly AND neither of them have said anything about it to their parents. Seems a bit odd considering they’re kids in these pristine God-fearing families lol.
LET’S GO MAJOR CHARACTER DEATH
BTW I’m not happy she (presumably) died but it is actually interesting
LOL what? That lady spewed a bunch of partisan and biased lines, much of her testimony should have been struck for being leading. Nobody during testimony talks like this 😂
Also having “Abercrombie” get assassinated is a weird move. I’m not saying that “died suddenly” assassinations don’t happen, but they’re not likely to happen in cases so low-level as the one being addressed here.
Mr. Willoughby’s exchange with Rep. Daryl Smith is probably the best written bit of dialogue in this film. This is how partisan witnesses behave, and this is how chairmen and representatives actually behave.
Smith is actually the best and most likeable character in this movie because of how realistically he’s written.
They really made a movie about #CommonCore in 2021 lol
holy frick there is SO MUCH meat left on the bone of this Taylor subplot. I’m actually salty at #GodsNotDeadWeThePeople for mismanaging it so grossly.
“Homeschooling is seperatist, elitist, and racist Kayla, and I didn’t raise you this way to challenge me in my own home.”
storms off
BRILLIANT WRITING
This movie is a joke.
I really like that they represented parents who want to homeschool because they think their local public schools are of poor quality, aren’t woke enough, or have too many bullies.
People overlook this but A LOT of people who homeschool aren’t #Christian. #JohnOliver mentioned this in his episode of #LastWeekTonight about homeschooling.
Wait wait wait…so the main character goes on an ideological screed about freedom in the closing remarks and that magically changes everybody’s mind? In hearings that everyone involved has already acknowledged that nobody is watching so no one will hold the representatives accountable for their behaviors or rulings?
And then they don’t even show the committee ruling one behalf of the defendants? We just get…a montage of everybody back home hanging out and smiling, with #Newsboys’ #GodsNotDead rockin’ in the background?
I’d say this is disappointing, but I expected this movie to be bad anyways.
