You just watched every permutation of Republican obstruction: first, invoking the 2-hour rule; second, trying to deny a quorum; third, interrupting the vote with points of order; fourth, a general walk-out.
It shows how *desperately* Republicans want to prevent Americans from seeing what’s been going on between the right-wing billionaires and the gift-taking justices. It has to be really bad to trigger that barrage of procedural weapons.
They confessed their guilt.
Gah. At this point, I think our elections aren't about saving democracy but saving the IDEA of democracy and making our current systems actually workable. There have got to be so many better ways of doing this...

Sadly our legal system is so convoluted and corrupt in many ways, it's impossible. We see that illustrated in the many Trump trials.

The same exact thing could be said about how Congress works. The #RepublicanParty is now showing us that government transparency and maintaining our democratic values are no longer needed.
Republicans know that the sources of their campaign funding won't bear scrutiny.
Foreign donors at an inaugural is just a small part of their public corruption.
