#amreading @amwriting
One very nice perk of working in a book shop (finally! yells my inner child) is being reunited with old friends like Rowan of Rin, in their nice new clothes.

There is a hard cover with all 5 books (clearly a well timed Christmas item), and I didn't even know there was 5. Last I heard there was 3, but why is Rowan of Rin important?

It was the first time I ever Went Somewhere Else.

It was Year 4, little kid me was listening to the story read by my teacher, and I was actually in the city, seeing the stonework streets, the fake city with golden roads. The gold foil had long since been rubbed off, and this treasure city was now just a lie...

As far as I can remember. But that was the first time I know I wasn't on planet Earth anymore.

When did you first go somewhere else?

I really want to hear about it. Love you all, Moriarty.

@Jtmoriartywriter @amwriting I read #RowanOfRin recently with my son, it’s a great little book and he loved it. I loved reading it again after a couple decades. #EmmaRodda is great, highly recommmend.

#PaulJennings is the author who comes to mind for first taking me away, standing on the cold sandy shore in a desolate remote beach, with a shirt (I’m not even sure that’s how the text goes now, but that’s what has stuck with me). #Unreal totally blew my ten year old mind.
