It Wasn't Jodie Whittaker's Fault. "[She] was a brilliant Doctor. It was everything around her that failed. The stories were weak, convoluted, and overstuffed; there were too many companions, and the scheduling was erratic, thanks in part to the pandemic." https://www.pajiba.com/tv_reviews/the-weak-chibnallera-of-doctor-who-wasnt-jodie-whittakers-fault.php
It Wasn't Jodie Whittaker's Fault; It Was Never Jodie Whittaker's Fault

@JenLucPiquant I seriously loved Ms Whittaker’s take on the Doctor!
@JenLucPiquant Jodie Whittaker was great! Agreed that a lot of the stuff around her failed, which is a real shame. Personally, I found the stories interesting but the background music during her stint drove me crazy, it never seemed to match the mood!

@davidvedvick @JenLucPiquant
Maybe my ears are getting old, but the background music was also far too loud. I usually had to use closed captioning--either because I couldn't hear the dialogue, or because I couldn't understand all the thick accents, or both. (I'm an American who prides myself on being able to understand & mimic accents, but frequently #JodieWhitaker & some of her companions tended to have very thick ones. Closed captioning didn't always understand them, either.)

#DoctorWho

@JenLucPiquant Jodie and David Tennant are easily my two fave Dr. Who's in the modern era. By a long margin.

@JenLucPiquant I wanted to like her season.... I really wanted to.

It was just such shite writing..... And if it's not on the page, no amout of great acting, great directing, great intentions, can save it.

@JenLucPiquant Jodie was awesome and it was never her fault, definitely
@JenLucPiquant yeah, I'd agree with this. I thought the scripts were so awful, they undermined some excellent acting, not only by Jodie Whitttaker, but also her companions.
@JenLucPiquant come on, there were FAR worse eras of Dr Who. Jodie did great.
@JenLucPiquant @lisamelton the doctor was made a supporting role in the Graham and Ryan Show…
@JenLucPiquant I have the exact same opinion as the author. Jodie was cool. But the episodes were simply boring to me.

@JenLucPiquant Or Colin Baker's or Sylvester McCoy's.

I don't think there's ever been a bad Doctor. Just good Doctors who've sometimes been let down by the material.

(For all that I enjoyed RTD's run and I'm delighted to have him back, there was some real dreck on his watch, too. "Aliens of London", "Fear Her", "Idiot's Lantern", and "Gridlock" all come to mind, and his finales tended to start out strong but fall apart by the end.)

@Thad @JenLucPiquant I love Gridlock! The other ones you mentioned, not so much.
@JenLucPiquant We never got a season of just Yaz and Jodie 🤬
@Dave3307 @JenLucPiquant I would have loved to see that. Too many freaking companions.
@JenLucPiquant
💯 this!!! I really wish we could have seen Jodie Whittaker as the Doctor with Russell T Davies as the showrunner, or even better a woman showrunner....
@JenLucPiquant My favorite doctor is Troughton, but Whittaker's era was the first time since Tom Baker that I was actually looking forward to each new episode. Not exaggerating.
@JenLucPiquant I did not watch, not really my rhing, but my feed was alit with people complaining. Something about excessive retcon.
