JohnyTheCarrotSomething I've noticed on Mastodon is people aren't as quick to the favorite button as on Twitter, I wonder why that is... Does anyone have any ideas? I often see lots of boosts but not as many favorites.
Mike Bartley@JohnyTheCarrot favorites here are only useful as a personal statement of approval. There's no algorithm to notice and promote favorited posts. Boosting on mastodon is the equivalent of favoriting on the dead bird site.
@mikebartley I contribute to a Mastodon client called #elk ( @elk ) but I still know quite little about its culture and inner workings. Out of curiosity, how did you find my toot for example?
