AWanderingSorcererFor this week's #SeiyuuSaturday we're looking at #TakuyaEguchi (b. 1987) who began voice acting in 2008.
We'll start this week in 2016 with #rezero. Here, Eguchi voiced Julius, a knight of the kingdom who initially finds himself at odds with Subaru before finding a place of bonding with our otherworlder. Eguchi does a nice job balancing the proud knight and the honorable man that makes up Julius.
Next, we're going to 2019, where Eguchi voiced Fumiya in #domesticgirlfriend. The best friend of main character Natsuo, Fumiya is there to always offer a word of advice (or a snarky remark about his situation). Eguchi sounds quite different from normal here, but still does well in this role.
Also in 2019, Eguchi voiced Kaji in the band BL #Given. The drummer for Four Seasons, Kaji is the most mature of the band, even as he deals with his own romantic issues. Eguchi is smooth as the laidback, stoic Kaji while still working well in his more comedic moments.
In 2021, Eguchi took a trip to another worid in #thesaintsmaigcpowerisomnipotent. Here, he played Johan, a medicinal plant researcher who becomes Sei's boss and helps her adapt to her new life, assisted by Eguchi's suave performance.
In 2022, Eguchi became the best lying papa as Twilight in #SPYxFAMILY. Taking on the guise of Loid Forger, Twilight creates a fake family, does his best to ensure world peace, and somehow manages the best life an emotionally stunted spy can handle. While Eguchi is great with the Bondian smoothness of Twilight, he's at his best when he's able to be the father and husband Loid Forger who deeply cares for his family - or, hilariously, is deeply confused by them.
Finally, we end with an anime from this year, #deadmountdeathplay. Here, Eguchi plays Tsubaki, a police officer who often finds himself involved in the underground and supernatural. His calm and inquisitive nature is well brought out by Eguchi's performance.
