Personal Story Time:

Since the Pandemic started I have been quite isolated socially. I went from a pretty active social life to an online-only social life.

After 3 years of this, I have adapted quite well I must say but I realized I have developed some “regional expressions” likely only me in the world can get the reference to.

Today I want to share one with you:

Everyday I’ve been either working or studying alone in my home office space. Still, every day I shower and dress to keep a sense of normality. But let’s be honest, I dropped the uncomfortable pants and I work in pyjama pants. Sure I shower and do my hair and put on a clean shirt and all but the pants? Nope. I want comfort.

When I do have a videochat for work or with friends, or when I go out for errands, then I do put my “normal pants” on. Otherwise, it’s pyjama pants all day!

Now, I’ve had quite a lot of social disappointments in the past 3 years to be honest. And quite a few times had meetups canceled on me.

When that happens,
I scream in frustration alone in my home:

“I can’t believe I put pants on for this!” 😡👖

And well now, you can say that too.

@Em0nM4stodon I love this story, I’m in a similar place.

Occasionally, even when working from home, I will choose a day to really take things seriously and put on work pants. It somehow makes a difference, but I can’t put forth that energy every day.

@Em0nM4stodon Putting on proper work pants can make a huge difference in my mood and mindset, but the best pants are no pants.
@Em0nM4stodon The best parts are comfort and no more office politics/drama. 🙂
@Em0nM4stodon Pyjamas are real comfort. I love them.

Hahaha very similar story, and I say more or less the same thing. Putting jeans on means doing a chore or something now. I did however start walking around the neighborhood in sweat pants, something I looked down at in the past 😅
