@nixCraft

Truth be told; The first one is often "because you think it will make you less money", and the second one; I have seen and heard this so many times, incl one of the brightest programmers I have ever known (Rickard Öberg). We all have skeletons that scare everyone.

@nixCraft
No one looks at the code of random undocumented repositories, and even less judge them, and there's no shame in building something anyway, however inelegantly written it may be

@nixCraft
It would be interesting to apply the fuckup philosophy to github public repos ( https://youtu.be/XRaZPSrORzQ?si=1ZeN51uk2VvoJklJ )

If you're scared to open source something bc you don't want to be judged, maybe make a webserver fully written with netcat and a long series of sed command creating new commands piped into bash with their result repiped into sed, etc...

Is perfectionism holding you back? Watch this...

@nixCraft I don't open source my projects because they'd need to be worked on first :/
@val_int1 @nixCraft I heard “No-Code” is all the hype now, I have been apparently doing it before it was cool *looks at the number of repos with only README containing a general idea* :-)
@nixCraft reminds me I still need to clean up t he code for my swaybar status generator so I can publish it
@nseinlet c'est donc pour ça que les scripts d'upgrade ne sont pas open source !
