Unless the BBC decides to do something incredibly stupid, I don’t think Disney or anyone else will ever *own* Doctor Who. But Disney is all about franchises and synergy. My hope is that DW is successful enough so that Disney+ will at least explore acquiring global (sans UK+Ireland) streaming rights to post-2005 DW+spinoffs as well as the new ancillary content like Unleashed and Tales from the TARDIS.

@grumpybozo @guide But it is funny how Marvel had the comic book rights to Doctor Who back in the 80s, and now its parent company holds the international streaming rights to Doctor Who. Gives the BBC a logical studio partner if it ever decides to follow through with a big film adaptation. Not saying I would want that, but it seems to come up every few years.
