Designed by John Gibson, this grand Italian Renaissance style building was originally constructed as the National Bank of Scotland on Queen Street in Central Glasgow.

It was deconstructed and moved to its current location on Langside Avenue on the southside of the city in 1901 where it was renamed Langside Hall.

Second, it took me a moment to realize that those were not perfectly spaced geese on the roof!

@bodhipaksa Now you point it out, they do look like geese (but are really Greek or Roamn urns).
@thisismyglasgow Moving the Langside Halls was a real act of civic confidence in the southward expansion. More recently, the Saracen fountain that used to stand outside the Halls was relocated northwards. Even the most permanent-looking things are portable.
