@GameMaker are there plans for a Linux version? ๐Ÿ‘€
@GameMaker I'm so glad we're going back to the single purchase licenses. Subscription was truly holding game maker back.
@GameMaker @nytpu nice to see yโ€™all doing an โ€œun-Unityโ€ ๐Ÿ˜†
@GameMaker this is a big W. this is what Unity could have become in an alternative world. you're amazing, guys.
@GameMaker it's a shame there is no Linux version. I guess I'll have to use something different.

@yulian @GameMaker It is a shame, though if you want to use it regardless I think I got an earlier version working in WINE (like, at a time when way less stuff worked in WINE). Given that it's now free for personal use, I may well give that another go myself.

Alternatively, try #GDevelop. That's on Linux and broadly similar. (I actually started using it myself partly because Game Maker went subscription-based.)

@DamonWakes @GameMaker makes sense. I can do that or use Godot in 2D mode. Lots.of options. But I have some old gamemmaker licenses from when I was on Windows. Would have given it another go with the changes but still no Linux.
@GameMaker ah great to see a one-time purchase option. This actually makes GameMaker look like an interesting option for smaller indie devs.
