@CharmingMalcontent he already said, back when he was actually president, that people were talking about repealing the presidential term limits to let him run for a third term. He already speculated that one of his kids would make a good president after him. He has already listed several things in the constitution that he, personally, would change or abolish. There is no nutso idea, shouted at a rally, that he wouldn't consider, and claim that "everyone is saying it".
@CharmingMalcontent
You'll still be able to vote. As long as you vote for the "right" candidate. Otherwise, you might need a little time at the reeducation camp.

@CharmingMalcontent In any other developed country, or in America at any other time, the solution would be simple and obvious - the Democrats would run another, younger candidate.

Just like Hillary Clinton in 2016, the Democrats are mesmerized by "whose turn it is" rather than who might be more likely to win.

@TomSwirly

Precious young things are de-facto anti-Israel because it's trendy and they havent bothered to research the importance of Democracy.

F*CK all to do with Joe's age.

#SaveDemocracy

@CharmingMalcontent I'm 61.

And I very much appreciate the importance of democracy, which is why I gave up almost everything to move out of the US to a functioning democracy.

@CharmingMalcontent I guess so, but have you ever asked the question why our government does not represent its population?! We have been doing this dance for a very long time now. It is really getting old just like them. Time to hand over things to the younger generations.

@IrisRichardson

I respecfully disagree - the most evolved, spiritually balanced civilizations in human history respected and honored the experience of their elders.

@CharmingMalcontent Perhaps, but that generation has suffocated anyone who came after theirs with no consideration how it will effect their future. They are selfish and have no scruples If we had wise leaders I would agree with you.

@IrisRichardson

How have they "suffocated" the younger generation?

@CharmingMalcontent Student debt, income stagnation, unaffordable housing to name a few. This has been going on 3 generation now. Poverty among women and children is back to all time high numbers. During covid it dropped some due to aid. The poor and homeless are left to their own. Funds cut one after the other for organizations who suppose to help them.

@IrisRichardson

...and these social challenges have existed for hundreds of years across all nations and tribes... humanity slowly learns and incrementally improves.

Go paint a picture, stop being historically reductive, simplistic and negative. It's not helpful

@IrisRichardson

... and which generations are you specifically referencing?
Your apparent "logic" seems to imply that all previous generations that have had older, more experienced, balanced leaders have oppressed and "suffocated" the younger voters who have elected them!
