It's official, I'm a seamster ... Here's my first garment, a muslin prototype of a summer shirt.

Don't look too closely, there's many construction issues πŸ˜…

@zka So many people are afraid of making shirts and you've jumped right in and done a rad job too!!
@Natalie Aaaahh thank you 😁
@zka That is so awesome, and for a prototype I think it looks great
@zka nice work, looks great
@popchicken Thank you! I really appreciate it.
@zka it closes, it fits, it will look great no worry there are always some problems that we're the only one to really see.
@Anne_de_Montague So true, I'll try to remember this πŸ˜… Thank you!
@zka looks great!
@Tydence Thanks!! 😁 There's more to come, I've already bought some fabric...
@zka Looks great from here! I would never be so rude as to look too closely at someone else's project and I hope everyone else is returning the sentiment when I post mine πŸ˜‚
@zka That’s amazing, especially for a first garment. It took me ages to get up the nerve to make a collared shirt.
@zka doing a yoke? it took me a while to wrap my brain around the yoke to collar stand but this looks great!
You have inspired me to action! My first go at a pattern, although I've done repairs and alterations often enough. I didn't realise how much of #sewing wasn't sewing. 😜

@jd @zka

Honestly, the least task I spend time on is stitching. πŸ˜ƒ The rest is planning, cutting, prepping for stitching, pressing, fitting, ....

And buying fabric. Lovely fabric. I have to do something with it all.
Although I'm reaping the rewards (again) of developing an interest in something, going down a massive rabbit hole, buying all the things - then moving on. When I inevitably pick it up again 18 months later I have everything I need!
@jd Nice! Yeah, this was a bit of a shocker. The amount of time spent using the sewing machine is a tiny slice of the pie graph D:
@zka Impressive first project!
