I wrote all of this for a reporter. I want to share it here. I don't have the energy for alt text, sorry, and the copy-paste mechanism on Twitter DMs on my phone is broken. Maybe I'll manage on my computer later. This is part one of two, really spilling my soul in ink on my feelings about this past month and a half. I don't know how much will make it into the article; probably not much.
Part two. I'm in a lot of pain. I hope this ends soon.
Someone typed this up for me. I'll try to add it as alt text tomorrow.
Here is the beautiful movement I have been helping from abroad: https://www.nytimes.com/2023/11/17/world/middleeast/israel-palestinians-standing-together.html
Israeli and Palestinian Activists Ask Americans to Take Side of Peace

Sally Abed, a Palestinian citizen of Israel, and Alon-Lee Green, a Jewish Israeli, found polarization in America over the war in Gaza. They also found longing for a new approach.

@TaliaRinger Sympathies and yes. It's horrible watching the hatred unveiled.
@TaliaRinger I hear you. It's been a horrible experience seeing how little nuance people are ready to have.
@TaliaRinger your words, your testimony, are precious. Thank you for having had the will and the strength to share them with us.
@TaliaRinger it's important to share feelings, they represent a transcendent intelligence that we all recognise, our common bond. It's what we have in common that unites us, thanks for shining a light on that.
@TaliaRinger Thank you for sharing 💙. Lots of solidarity here; we’ve also lost a lot of friends in the past month.
@TaliaRinger "Fuck Dehumanization" should be a political slogan that all decent folks on all sides can subscribe to.
@TaliaRinger Solidarity. ✊ Thank you for sharing this
@TaliaRinger I think Tal put it succinctly a few days back - there's little grace or space for Israeli/Jewwish grief after Oct 7. Everyone seems to think admitting that is tantamount to propaganda, which is a clear case of getting high on one's supply imo.
@TaliaRinger the insistence of American leftists on reducing every conflict everywhere to "white vs. POC" is a form of cultural imperialism and needs to be called out as such
