Somehow I keep letting my memory of Portillo's greatness fool me into thinking it'll still be great this time. I never learn!!
It's like I block all the memories of mediocre modern Portillo's in favor of the old memories, then I question myself. 😑

@Andrew What neighborhood are you looking in? I'm up in Skokie so I'm lucky to have lots of good locals. If you're in the Loop then go find Bombacigno's.

@jordan oh I'm on the west side, so I have easy access to Johnie's Beef in Elmwood or Gene & Judes for a hotdog. Not sure why I waste time with Portillo's 😅
I'd check out Bombacigno's, but I think they closed?

@Andrew Oh I thought they were open? But yeah if you've got easy access to Johnnie's then there isn't really a reason to go anywhere else.
