Every tiny bit of interaction with the medical system in the US costs a multitude of what the same interaction costs in other countries.
There’s a reason why “international medical insurance” for say European travelers excludes the US by default. And if it includes US, it costs 4-10 times as much.
US is 13th in the world for the highest marginal individual income tax rate. Throw in the cost of education, medical bills, insurance, and property taxes, just to name a few, we as Americans are getting screwed.

I’m blessed to have good health/dental insurance and I guarantee you I make sure I get my money’s worth from it. I get my annual physicals, my required pokings and proddings, etc.
Maybe you should talk to them first instead of wishing for them to pay for help not involving you.
