@dilmandila I just finished listening to the closing score now. I jumped to a wrong conclusion that the sacred bird/crow were good and evil and that messed me up. Its life and death; death is not evil it just is. It is another stage of life, inevitable but not preferable.
I laughed out loud when she says to her uncle, if you are dead, how are you alive? im like WHAT SHE SAID! but the accident at the wedding doomed him to a half life where he eventually had to pay for taking the life of the couple he stole in his drunkenness. Just loved the music and I feel as if I have been on a trip as the life in Ghana is so foreign to my up bringing in Los Angeles. It was so unlike anything else I have watched it was really an experience.
Im confused about the sacred bird dying, which would imply the girl was not pure of heart, but then its alive again to help her find her father; did he jump from guilt or was he pushed by the crow? Some of the symbolism escaped me but I really liked it, Thanks!!!

I totally get the 'foreign' feeling. We learn so little about the daily life in other countries and TV is dominated by American shows and films. It's so refreshing to see actors and actresses I've never seen before, strange symbolism which challenges me and some unusual style of filmmaking.
I'd highly recommend we watch "Atlantique" this weekend. I would love to hear your thoughts on that one.

Whatever we decide! I think I just had #StarTrekHour in mind which is once a week. But if we don't have a specific time window to discuss the films 'live' on Mastodon, we can do it as we like.
Do you think we should set some rules for the thing?
