Please read this warning. Become familiar with the threats and the language. This is a flashing warning sign for our democracy. The alarm is being raised not just by me but from many historians and civil rights leaders who understand the danger we are in. https://open.substack.com/pub/statuskuo/p/a-code-red-for-our-democracy?r=1zr8b&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web
A Code Red for Our Democracy

Trump is running the Hitler speech and playbook. America needs to wake up.

The Status Kuo
@jaykuo The man had Mein Kampf on his nightstand, for crying out loud.
@jaykuo A lucid analysis. Well said.

It’s hard to reconcile the incongruity of hating Asian people for COVID-19, on the one hand, and dismissing masks as unnecessary, or vaccines as dangerous, on the other. If people are able to believe both of these at once, it’s a sure sign they’re not using their rational minds; they’ve been manipulated by a demagogue. Trump leads by stoking fear and intimidation. America is diminished by this man, not made great, by any stretch of the imagination.

@pcbeard @jaykuo
Beliefs always trump facts - inconvenient truths are twisted until they fit the narrative.

Facts just make people angry.

@jaykuo. Thank you for writing this essential piece. I would love the @WashingtonPost, the @NYTimes, @TheWallStreetJournal and all other #media outlets to plaster this on the front page.

@jaykuo

I think it's ironic for Trump to talk about purity or "one people". His dad's family is from Germany, his mom is from Scotland, all three of his wives are from different countries.

The sort of person a lot of dictators he loves would like to round up.

@jaykuo
Hitler died April 30, 1945
Trump born June 14, 1946

Tibetan Buddhists believe that there is an in-between stage known as the bardo which can take up to 49 days. Maybe it's longer for a fascist.

"Tuberville's blocks are part of the Project 2025 plan, as are Trump's words. We ignore the collaborative efforts of these people at great risk. Trump's biggest mistake, in his mind, during his first term, was not having a pliant military. He's going to do everything he can to "fix" that "mistake" second time around."

insightful comment by Charles Bastille!

@jaykuo

Tuberville's block on military promotions reminds me of Mitch McConnell's block on hearings for Merrick Garland in 2016 so that after the next election a Republican president could fill it with someone who would do his bidding.

Remember Trump's Pentagon purge in November 2020, only just in time for him trying to steal the election?

Tuberville block = Pentagon purge on steroids.
