One of my friends accidentally dropped her phone down an elevator shaft a few days ago. Today when another friend was showing me how it happened, talking about how funny it was and how stupid the other girl must've been, she dropped her own phone down the same elevator shaft. And you're saying that karma doesn't exist?

Here's hoping that the same thing doesn't happen to me now because I can't stop laughing.

@Caoimhe I love how (as non-native speakers of English) we sometimes mix "elevator" and "lift" in the same sentence and don't even notice. The beauty of learning a language without living in a country where that language is spoken.

@miki Oooops. Yeah I didn't notice that lol.

Hmm I guess I should eddit the post but what word to choose?

@Caoimhe the elivators I have seen a phone wouldn't fit between the floor of the elevator, and the outside floor, so how in the heck are people managing to do this? just wow!
@jamminjerry I don't know if the elevator wasn't installed properly or something, but there is a gap between the building floor and the elevator floor. It's pretty small, but apparently big enough for a phone to fit in.
@Caoimhe are these phones not in cases or something? that is the only way I could think they are fitting threw there. ouch. that is one expensive mistake what ever is happening, because I am sure these phones are not surviving that fall very well.
@jamminjerry The phone I saw yesterday was in a case, but it was very thin. Also the person who dropped her phone a few days ago dropped her other phone down another elevator shaft about 7 years ago, and it survived lol.
@Caoimhe I'm sorry wtf?
@munchkinbear Lol that would've been my reaction if I didn't witness it myself.
@Caoimhe @CStamp Next message: “Hi, it’s Mariia, I’m typing on my friend’s phone…”
@MichaelPorter @CStamp Hahaha no, I'm careful. I only laugh at them when I'm far from that elevator.
@Caoimhe hahahahahahahahaha!
@Caoimhe I'm imagining a long cry of "Nooooo!" along with muffled bangs and clunks as the phone hits the sides of the elevator shaft on the way down.
