Trump and his manipulators and apparatchiks aren't even pretending to hide their goals for a fascist America.

It's been obvious for years now, and you should read/watch this brilliant analysis of a video shown prominently at the Jan. 6 insurrection. (I missed it when it was published, but it's still very much worth looking at.)

Meanwhile, Big Journalism mostly resists noticing, much less doing anything about, the emergency we face. Time is short.

Movie at the Ellipse: A Study in Fascist Propaganda

Scholars on the Nazis and anti-Semitism have seen this before.

@dangillmor liberal media cant engage with fascism because they lack class consciousness. You need class consciousness and materialist analysis to be able to struggle with fascism effectively. otherwise you just get centrist drivel that compares MAGA to fascists without realizing its neoliberalism that enabled maga and in turn fascism

@dangillmor

The fascists are coming. The fascists are coming.

You know resistance to fascism in America has never been an obvious and clear choice of the system. Just the opposite. In those occasions when American democracy has resisted fascism it has done so by the skin of its teeth at best.

It was only the good fortune of the Japanese attack on Pearl harbor that enabled Roosevelt to overcome deep German American, nativist, and fascist sympathy for Hitler in the early 1940s.

The connections between southern racism and German fascist laws were direct and not just in one direction.

Fascism is coming to America again and I do not know what forces are available to resist it.

@dangillmor

In the first minute of the Trump speech in the "save America March in Washington " video, I agree that "what matters is that the people control the government"

I think most voters would agree with that statement at some level or another

However, Trump never explicitly explains what agency he knows "controls", or biases the government (if not the majority of people)

The richest people in society! The corporations that have billions of dollars to "influence" capitalist democracies

@dangillmor

Biden has done far more to try and mitigate a corporatocracy, whilst Trump's actions, well, they speak for themselves. Trump tried to take the power away from, for example, the environment agency, therefore tried to weaken the people's, the governments, ability to regulate industry.

If Trump was President of the UK, he'd try to privatise the National Health Service (against the will of the majority of people).

People should try and inform Trump supporters of neoliberalism

@dangillmor The plan to end democracy? Even a super skilled con man like Trump couldn't pull this off without the support of the Big Money of the world. Big media is too "owned" to tell us about it, but surely social media and amateur sleuths can shed some light.
@dangillmor Clearly, The Man in the High Castle was just an euphemism for The Pumpkin in the Tall Tower.
