So this is a difference between "available" an "in season".

I was relying on https://www.produce.co.nz/seasonality-chart/ which says Envy apples are available until November.

But https://www.goldenbayfruit.com/our-fruit/our-varieties/envy/ says available April to August,

But drilling down https://www.goldenbayfruit.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Golden-Bay-Fruit-Seasonality-Calendar.pdf says harvesting is only April. So any other month means the product has been in storage.

It may grow elsewhere in NZ at other times but I can't find any online sources.

I shall update my PSA notices to April only for Envy apples.

The Produce Company
I should go through and check "available" versus "in season" for all apple varieties. And probably every produce. But that's too big a job for me to face. Simple-minded me will just take "available" and "local grown" as being "in season" unless it gets flagged for my attention. I don't think there is a comprehensive resource for when and what is in season in New Zealand. It's only in consumers interests to have that information available - not growers and not sellers.
