gaming hardware was a mistake
@lexd0g braided ethernet cable sounds nice though
@theking YEah but you dont need to spent One Hundred dollars on a cable to get braided
@lexd0g its $100???????? wtf

@theking @lexd0g

Sounds pretty cheap. Audiophile lan cable starts at $200

(And don't forget the $300 cable holder:

@lexd0g Gotta get those packets. /all/ the packets
@lexd0g How is this 100$ and not even S/FTP for that money?

@privateger @lexd0g *agreed* At that price it should be #Cat8 S/STP (PIMF) with extra ground lead to connect externally as well as sping steel retaining latches so they can't be broken off?

Cuz not even Steam-pressure - washable & desinfectable Patchcables for medical devices using #Neutrik-Connectors are that expensive, and those at least have a valid reason to do so...

@kkarhan @privateger @lexd0g it's $15 at B&H
I don't think it's that bad for a braided cat7 cable
although you're paying 3x what a normal cat7 cable of that length and durability would cost.
@lexd0g It's Monster cables all over again!
@popey @lexd0g honestly, if they made "gamer" network cables with locking tabs that didn't break off after 15 seconds of actual use i'd be tempted

@devlin @popey @lexd0g Get some quality ones with steel retaining latches...

They cost way less and they actually are of decent qualty...

@lexd0g these are the same fuckers responsible for gpus being as overpriced as they are

hehe silly string
@coolbeans id say thats more nvidias fault tbh

@lexd0g @coolbeans +1

And they fail to provide "added value" to justify that bs price compared to some #Cat8 Patch Cable from Aperzon!

@lexd0g what about "audiophile" network switch

@Nellen @lexd0g Just use a #fanless #UniFi switch with #SFP+ ports and shove some AOC (active optical cable) or matchibg modules and fibers in it - like with #Toslink...

@lexd0g i'm waiting for the silver cables, copper just isn't good enough. 😆
@tshirtman @lexd0g actually, at that price they should've used #gold instead...

@lexd0g oh no they're going down the path of the audiophiles

@SharpLimefox @lexd0g not really...

Otherwise this would've been an AOC (Active Optical Cable) instead...

Intro Contents 1. Intro2. JCAT Signature LAN Cable3. Sound4. Comparisons5. Permutations & Findings6. Many audiophiles who stream […]

@lexd0g the F is 600MHz network speed

@stfn @lexd0g maximum certified frequency aka. Baudrate.

Because on Ethernet there are multiple Bandwiths and Encoding Schemes to provide Bandwith...

Either way 600MHz is lousy at that price when there are cheaper cables doing 2.000MHz and thus can do 40GBaseT out of the box.

@lexd0g my favorite part about this is that not all of this is total bullshit (like being cat7 and 10GB), but almost no one will ever be able to take advantage of the bandwidth on a 10GB cable unless they're running in like a datacenter and have 10GB switches on the local network at the very least, if not also a 10GB uplink

gamers have ruined computing
@lexd0g Anything sounds cool if you appear gamer-y enough lol
@lexd0g gamers are the most gullible motherfuckers in the world theyll use anything marketed as a gaming whatever no matter how pointless it is, gaming browser, gaming cable, gaming anal beads or whatever the fuck its actually insane
@rat @lexd0g as a gamer, I am indignant at my fellow gamers for buying lies
