I will tell you the story of my admiration of Taylor Swift
About ten years ago, she won some important Grammy Award (The details have completely left my memory, And it doesn't matter)
And that lunatic (Although it wasn't clear How crazy, at the time) Kanye got up on the stage and said Beyonce should have won the award.
When asked by reporters afterwards, she replied by saying NOTHING. I have never heard of a celebrity saying nothing!
@the_Cornflower If you like more old school music, Billy Bragg + Wilco in Mermaid Avenue is worth giving a spin. It's a bunch of old previously unrecorded Woody Guthrie songs put to music. There's also an amazing album with Billy Bragg and Joe Henry full of old American train songs called Shine A Light, which is a personal favorite of mine.
Personally speaking as someone who is a bit out of touch with the times, I find Folklore to be the by far most enjoyable Taylor Swift album. I know she has a lot of good stuff, but Folklore is the only album I can truly enjoy musically.

@flexghost I liked back during the lead-in to 2016 when all the worst people you know were convinced that her professional political neutrality meant she was secretly a pro-Trump southern Republican — then she finally came out in full support of, you know, liberal democracy, and people being free to do what they want and all that good stuff, and all the MAGAnuts went absolutely insane.
Between that and her collabs with The National, I think she's a hero for our age.

Well, motivating people to register, to inform and to vote is a good thing. but there is a paradox: Swift owns an island and a private jet and is a heavy user of that jet. that makes her a climate hazard as bad as Elon Musk. If her followers take her message to the heart (inform, then act) they will unfollow her for the damage she causes to the climate.
And now for something completely different: if you are a fan of Taylor Swift you can - regardless of your home country, regardless of your citizenship and regardless if you are an adult - sign a petition to the german parliament asking to remove social media apps from german app shops if the do not remove anti semitic content in a timely manner. You don't even need to be a fan of Swift.
