I have finished The Andromeda Evolution by Michael Crichton and Daniel H. Wilson.
I had never really considered whether the Andromeda Strain needed a sequel. This managed to do the original justice I think, while being rather predictable. It feels very much as though it were written to make a film adaptation especially easy.
It does make me wonder how much The Andromeda Strain might have influenced The Expanse.
