as per title. I WISH ANYBODY COULD FIND JUST ONE COUNTER EXAMPLE

What?

I love reading SF.

I love bushwalking.

Neither does anything to increase my reproductive fitness.

Some would argue that reading science fiction restricts it.
reading scifi makes for better conversation and by extension makes you a more attractive mate
Can confirm. I sat alone in the cafeteria in high school and read sci-fi and I was swimming in booty. The athletes and preppies would come up to me and say, "what's your secret bro?" And I wouldn't say anything; just smile and sit back and open my tattered, dog-eared copy of Dune.
Laugh all you want reading dune provides a lot of political acumen and social skills. All things being equal somebody who read dune is more attractive as a mater.
It wasn't the science fiction that lead to this result
Reading increases your knowledge and knowledge increases power. More power means more influence over your surroundings, means more likelihood to survive and more likelihood to procreate successfully some day. bushwalking a skill that too increases your likelihood of procreation. You are fitter (more attractive) you are more intersting(more attractive) and you get arround (making it more likely to run into a matching partner and procreate or find new food sources and so on)
