At Crossplay, here's my early review of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, from the perspective of a parent playing with young kids. I spoke with other families about their experiences with the game, too, and I'm sorry to report it's a mixed bag. https://patrickklepek.substack.com/p/super-mario-bros-is-great-wonder
Super Mario Bros. Wonder is Great, But Doesn't Have Enough Options for Families

Nintendo has crafted a tremendous new platformer, but one where more options would go a long way towards making it fun for everyone who wants to play.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder is a fantastic video game, but YMMV, based on your child's age and skill set. The game makes some really frustrating decisions that'll irritate young ones, and sadly, there are very few options for you to play around with.
Nintendo does not have a long history of overhauling its games via patches and updates, but I'm really hoping there'll be some movement here. Let my kid be invincible as Peach instead of Nabbit, please?

@patrickklepek could not agree more with this.

Sat down with my five year old and as soon as we were at the character select screen I knew we had a problem. She only wanted to be Peach or Daisy and after the second level decided she “hates” the game and we’re back playing Mario Kart (a game which let’s you use the assists with any character…what an idea!).

@patrickklepek My daughter is also princess pilled. at the very least could they add a pink Yoshi? maybe toss a tiara on?
