@mike G'day Mike, hope you're well.

A few days ago i did [another 🤣 🤦‍♀️​] #FediHop, & so some of the first accounts i added for Follows were my five fav chinwaggers per pic. I've been curious about this question for quite a long time now [given i've been thru this process many times 🤭​], & so thought i might actually ask you now so i can understand [for if there's a "next time", 😉 ].

When peeps try to follow any chinwag #newsbot accounts, like i do, is the approval process automated, or instead require manual personal action? If manual, then i definitely see why it would take a few days. If automated though, should it still take a few days, like always seems to have been for me, each time i have hopped?

I'm not any server admin or anything, yet i'm still curious, ta. Also, btw, fwiw, i derive great utility from these accounts, so i wanna thank you for running them! 🤗​

@MsDropbear425 I don't have infosec.exhange totally blocked, but it is limited from Chinwag because while it's not a "problematic" place it's got a very high frequency of "that fucking guy" and we require approval from our users before interaction.

So yes, as follows from there require review by the account owner, that's why the news bots at Chinwag are showing as pending to you.

I don't run any of the bots myself though. That's @matt and hi Matt do you check for follow requests to the bots? Could you please? 😁

@mike @matt Hi & ta! Aaarrggh yes, i needed help from you & Matt some months ago, during a previous #FediHop i'd done to another server [i really should learn to stop!], but today i could not remember Matt, only you [sorry Matt!]. Fingers crossed once Matt has time, those approvals will be ok [ie, it's not some odd tech issue causing a block (you can tell i have no idea what i'm talking about)]. 🤗

@matt @mike @guardian_bot T/y ... but i'm confused about you not seeing my other three Pendings at your end. This is now what i see at mine [have i done something wrong?]:

EDIT, later... added second pic, showing now only two Pendings, one of which remains the Guardian bot.
